Who Is Mommy?

Blogging with Mommy is written and published by Rebecca Gill, an entrepreneur, Internet marketing consultant, online coach, and self-diagnosed technomommy.

The Work Mommy

I am an avid blogger and have been for years. I love all things Internet and technology.

In my day life, I am president of Web Savvy Marketing and spend many hours working with Little, my very fat black cat. While he doesn’t speak much, Little is more than happy to hang with me, attend video conference calls, and listen to my ramblings on organic search engine optimization and internet marketing. He is the best co-worker I have ever had and I am thankful for his company.

The Home Mommy

In my nightlife and am a wife to Jason and mother to Ally and Hunter. We have a non-traditional family and live in Southeastern Michigan. While I love my day life, I cannot begin to imagine life without my family. They are absolutely everything to me.

I am quirky, a neat freak, and a worrywart. All three characteristics drive my husband crazy. I am also a survivor. I have made my way through life in spite of circumstance and have broken patterns that should not be repeated. While I am far from easy going, I am forgiving and always try to remember that I have as many, if not more, faults than anyone I encounter.

More importantly, I believe that our past shapes our future and define who and what we will become. We cannot run or hide from the roots that began our journey or those who nurtured us along the way. Just as strongly as I believe in acknowledging your roots, I believe you can shape your future into anything you desire if you have enough inner strength and dexterity.

The Village Who Raised Me

I believe in the theory that it “takes a village to raise a child”. For me, my village was far reaching. It was my beloved grandmother, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, my teachers, my employers, and the many parents of my friends who seemed to adopt me at every turn. To my village I will be always grateful; because they gave me a chance and a hope for a future I would not have had otherwise.  My current village consists my in-laws, my friends, and my neighbors.  They seem to provide ongoing emotional support and entertainment just when I need it.
